The Tradition Continues...57th Mobile Piano Ensemble

Our concert was once again a great success. The music selection was excellent and the audience enjoyed it very much. Pictures

The Mobile Piano Ensemble is supported entirely by contributions of music-lovers and all contributions are tax-deductible.

The concert was professionally video-taped, and for a donation of at least $25 you will receive a DVD of the 2008 Concert for FREE.

Meet Our 2008 Concerto Soloist

Lindsey Hughes

Lindsey Hughes, a native of Mobile, began playing the piano at the age of 12. During her early years of study, she was named a state winner twice in the AMTA annual piano auditions. She has also won first place numerous times in the Mobile Sonata Contest and the MMTA Scholarship Auditions.

In 2003, Lindsey was awarded music and academic scholarships at the University of South Alabama. In 2007, she received the John W. Laidlaw Scholarship, an additional award reserved for outstanding music majors.

Dr. Robert Holm

Robert Holm is Professor of Music at the University of South Alabama, where he teaches private piano, offers class piano instruction to piano majors and concentrations, directs piano ensemble and serves as accompanist for the Musical Arts Series. In addition, Holm is past president of the Mobile Music Teachers Association, pianist for the Mobile Symphony Orchestra and at Dauphin Way Baptist Church.

Chris Steele

Chris Steele, a native of Gulfport, Mississippi, received his Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of South Alabama. He holds two Masters degrees from Florida State University in Piano Performance and Music Theory.He was awarded second place in the Music Teacher National Association Competition in both Florida and Alabama.

After spending two years on faculty at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Jackson County Campus, he is now pursuing the DMA in Accompanying and Chamber Music at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
