A native Tennessean, Nancy moved to Mobile when her father became a member of the
first faculty of the University of Mobile (Mobile College). She completed her bachelor’s degree
with a double major in Physical Education and Mathematics at Mobile College. Her master’s degree is in Secondary Education from the University of South Alabama. She has completed post-graduate work at the University of Alabama.
She has studied piano with five teachers, and is currently under the tutelage of Dr. Robert Holm, assistant professor of music at the University of South Alabama, where she has played in various duo recitals with Dr. Holm.
She has been involved with music all her life, singing in choirs and special groups in high school and at church; having accompanied choirs and special groups at churches in Mobile, Alabama, and Tampa, Florida. She has also accompanied vocal performance recitals for Cherri Fussell’s Voice Studio, several public voice recitals, and students at the University of South Alabama.
She is currently a teacher of mathematics at Murphy High School where she has served as an accompanist for the advanced and beginning chorus, as well as soloists for music programs at the school.
Nancy is also on the staff of the Music Ministry of Dauphin Way Baptist Church as well as a participant in Keyboards at Christmas. She and Dr. Holm have recorded a compact disc containing a variety of sacred music.
